NATURE OF PRACTICE

1.All areas of criminal law; both defence and prosecution;

A.He has defended a substantial number of large scale fraud cases including mortgage frauds, credit cards frauds, high value motor vehicle "ringing" cases, VAT/Diversion frauds - the last of which involved a fraud in excess of £5.8M

B.He has conducted large-scale Class A supply and importation cases predominantly for the defence, often included in such cases have been offences involving fire arms

C.He has acted on behalf of the defence in all forms of sexual offences.

D.Similarly in relation to violence. he has acted on behalf of the clients in all forms of offences including murder, including in particular a number of "child shaking" cases, involving large volumes of medical evidence.

2. Immigration Law

Mr Khawar was appointed to sit as an Immigration adjudicator (Immigration Judge as from April 2005) in immigration and asylum appeals. He sits predominantly in Manchester and consequently cannot take instructions in Manchester, but can from anywhere else in the country. He practices in all areas of immigration and asylum law, conducting cases before adjudicators and appeals thereafter to the IAT, High Court and Court of Appeal.
