Recently Fergal has been instructed in cases of the following nature:
Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Briefed for the first defendant in multi-handed trial involving allegations of Police misconduct during searches of defendant's property; Class A drug supply. Successfully argued, after Newton hearing, that it would be unjust to adopt the minimum 7 year starting point for a third drug trafficking conviction; Possession of firearms. Including adapted weapons and those associated with drug supply; Death by dangerous driving. Successful appeal of sentence in the Court of Appeal; Violent offences, including allegations involving weapons, infliction of grievous bodily harm, robbery and consideration of the dangerousness provisions; Arson, including where life is endangered either intentionally or recklessly, and where there is a history of fire setting; Burglary, including aggravated offences, organised commercial burglaries, three strike dwelling house burglaries; Theft in breach of trust, instructed to prosecute Royal Mail employees and agents on behalf of the Post Office; Benefit fraud, briefed for both the prosecution and the defence; Proceeds of crime act applications, including successful defence of a "hidden assets" case in the sum of £650,000; Anti social behaviour order applications, acting for both the applicant and respondent. Particular interest in this area; Privately paid motoring cases, including special reasons, exceptional hardship, totting up disqualifications etc.
