Gaynor’s practice encompasses all aspects of family law, with a particular emphasis on complex care cases. She undertakes work for parents, Local Authorities and children (whether directly or through their guardian). She is regularly instructed by the Official Solicitor to act for parents who lack capacity to instruct.
She appears in the High Court and County Court in care cases involving child death, non accidental injuries with complex medical evidence, sexual and physical abuse, serious neglect cases in addition to cases with an international element. She also undertakes Secure Accommodation applications and PII claims.
She acts in Human Rights Act claims and Judicial Review proceedings linked to Care cases.
She has vast experience of all aspects of Private law work, with a particular interest in International cases. She routinely appears in cases where leave is sought to remove children from the jurisdiction, including cases involving Turkey, Oman, Australia, Germany, Sweden and Nigeria. She also undertakes all aspects of child abduction work, with experience of both Convention and non Convention countries.
She acts for Rule 9.5 Guardians in difficult private law proceedings.
She undertakes Adoption related work, including complex cases involving the revocation of Orders made.
She also acts in Matrimonial finance and Cohabitee Claims, including mainstream Ancillary Relief work, Schedule 1 Children Act applications, and regularly advises in TOLAATA claims.
She has been recommended in the Legal 500 on numerous occasions, including " a very strong family practitioner with a particular interest in children work" (2007) and "Gaynor Lloyd is noted for complex care cases and has a niche in international children law work" (2008)
She is fully bilingual, and conducts hearings, conferences, and advises in Welsh as well as English.
