NATURE OF PRACTICE:
Maurice specialises in criminal and regulatory law. His practice involves prosecuting and defending all types of criminal cases, however he has particular expertise in cases involving murder, child physical or sexual abuse, fraud and drugs.
Maurice is a Category 4 Prosecutor. He has acted on behalf of the General Medical Council in disciplinary proceedings and has appeared before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in this connection.

Prosecuting Counsel in a number of cases arising out of Operation Cleopatra, a large scale investigation into child abuse in care homes in the Greater Manchester area.

Maurice has considerable experience in regulatory matters including cases involving environmental law, prison law, trading standards, health and safety and education. He has been instructed in judicial review proceedings in a number of these areas.
